We are renowned for our welcome, our ales and our cooking... join us at the award winning Railway, a hidden gem tucked away in the East Yorkshire village of New Ellerby, or the beautiful Tudor exterior pub, The White Hart, in the Old Town area of Hull city centre or The Whittington and Cat, near the Hull’s Ice Arena.

Please take a look through our website to see all that our pubs, restaurants and accommodation have to offer you.

Our owner and landlady Sue Perkins is famous for her traditional meat pies. Sue’s mum Edie was one of the first ever landladies to cook meals for her customers in Hull. After 18 years as chef at The Blue Bell in Sproatley, Sue bought The Railway and now 50 years on and three generations later, Sue and her daughters, Michelle and Lydia, are still cooking up the best in home cooked food.

We pride ourselves on our food - every dish that leaves our kitchen is fresh and hearty and all served with vegetables or salad. We source as many of our ingredients from local producers as we can, including our eggs, meat, vegetables, salads and potatoes… and our sausages that come from an excellent butcher in Brandesburton are the ultimate in taste!

Our menu is extensive and varied and offers options to suit everyone’s palate. There are plenty of fresh healthy choices and vegetarians are well catered for. There is also a wide choice for those who have a gluten-free diet, including our famous meat pie.

The bars are run independently and are very well stocked with a wide range of ales, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Our accommodation is beautifully and tastefully decorated and dressed – Sue and her team have constantly invested into every area of the pubs and their passion for them is clear to see. Sue loves The Railway so much she even built her family home in its grounds! Take a look through this site for lots of pictures – you’ll be surprised!

We hope to welcome you very soon – we will always go that extra mile to make sure your visit with us is perfect…
