Located 10 miles northeast of Hull at New Ellersby, the Railway Inn sits next to the old Hull & Hornsea railway line. The last train puffed past back in 1964 but the pub remains a popular choice for good-value pub food. It’s open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Sunday with a restaurant that seats 80 diners with room for another 80 in the bar area. One of the specialities is still the home-made meat pie which comes from a traditional recipe handed down through three generations of the landlady’s family.
